Your Guide to Well-BeingHi, I’m Chrissy!
Your Guide to Well-Being
Outside of the therapy room, I’m an adventurer at heart. I find grounding and inspiration in nature, often hiking trails in Colorado or exploring new places with my dog Blue by my side.
I’m also what I like to call a “woo girlie.” I love energy work, sound baths, and soulful rituals that help me reconnect with my body and intuition. My spirituality isn’t separate from my clinical work; it deepens it. I believe healing is both psychological and sacred.
When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me:
Spending time with my family and my close circle of girlfriends.
Exploring new music, sound bath healing, or mindful daily movement.
Enjoying quiet mornings with tea and deep journal reflections or meditations... or planning my next adventure.
I love traveling and exploring different lands and cultures. I recently went on an expedition to Antartica.
My favorite things are doggy cuddles, doggy kisses and chocolate (hehe)!
These practices help me show up to therapy centered, grounded, and real, qualities I hope you feel in our work together.
Therapy in Colorado
I’m Christina “Chrissy” Shelby, a LMFT in CA and CO.
CA LMFT # 97714

My ExpertiseTherapy experience
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in both California and Colorado, with over 15 years of experience helping adults heal from complex trauma, OCD, anxiety, attachment wounds, and the invisible weight of high stress jobs, perfectionism and chronic burnout.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported hundreds of individuals, professionals, leaders, therapists, and creatives who look calm and capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally exhausted inside.
My clinical expertise is rooted in two evidence-based modalities that I use extensively in my practice:
EMDR therapy for CPTSD, anxiety, and nervous system healing.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy for trauma, attachment repair, and integration.
These tools allow me to support deep transformation that reaches beyond insight, helping you feel grounded, connected, and free in your mind and body again.
My ApproachA Holistic Approach
to Wellness
As a trauma-informed attachment therapist offering therapy in Colorado and California, I believe in taking a holistic approach to wellness, addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Through a combination of therapeutic techniques, mindfulness practices, I strive to help you achieve balance, resilience, and vitality in all aspects of your life. My mission is to help you reconnect with yourself, your body, and your capacity for calm. Through a blend of compassionate care, nervous system regulation, and evidence-based approaches, I support clients in creating gentle, lasting transformative change from the inside out.
You’ve learned how to handle everything life throws at you. You lead, you achieve, and you support everyone else, but lately, it feels like you’re running on empty. No matter how much you accomplish, peace still feels out of reach.
Maybe you find yourself overanalyzing conversations long after they happen. Maybe your perfectionism has become exhausting, or you feel a constant sense of impending doom that you can’t quite explain. Or perhaps you’ve started to notice how old relationship patterns, such as people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, or abandonment fear that keep showing up no matter how hard you try to outgrow them.
If this sounds familiar, I want you to know something important: you are not broken! You’re human, and responding to stress and trauma the best way your nervous system knows how.
My Approach: Gentle Change Through Compassion and Clarity
Healing doesn’t mean pushing yourself harder or analyzing yourself into exhaustion. It means creating the space to be authentic safely, without judgment.
Many of my clients are high-achieving professionals, leaders, and creatives, people who seem confident and put-together but feel disconnected internally. They’re often navigating perfectionism and burnout, feeling disconnected in relationships, complex trauma histories, internalized pressure, or workplace trauma that has left them anxious and unfulfilled despite their success.
In our work together, you’ll experience:
Grounded support that helps your nervous system feel safe enough to relax and open
Attachment healing therapy to explore how early relationships shaped your sense of safety and belonging
Somatic approaches to help your body release stored tension as well as traumas stored in the body to help you and move towards clarity and calm
Trauma-informed care so every part of you feels seen, safe and respected
IFS therapy and EMDR therapy are powerful tools to reprocess trauma and connect with your inner resilience
How I Help:
I integrate multiple modalities to support holistic healing, including:
IFS Therapy for Trauma and OCD:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you meet your inner parts with compassion and curiosity. We’ll work together to identify the parts that overanalyze, people-please, or shut down, not to get rid of them, but to help them relax. This model is guided by what IFS calls the 8 C’s of Self: compassion, curiosity, calm, clarity, confidence, courage, creativity, and connectedness.
Clients often say that IFS therapy helps them:
Feel more in control of their emotions and reactions
Heal attachment wounds and abandonment fear
Ease intrusive thoughts through IFS therapy for OCD
Experience greater relief from anxiety and increased self-trust
EMDR Therapy for CPTSD and Anxiety:
As an EMDR Therapist in California and Colorado, I support clients who’ve experienced overwhelming or distressing events that their body still holds and stores traumatic memories or responses.onto. EMDR helps reprocess these disturbing and distressing memories, reducing emotional and physical triggers allowing you to respond from the present moment rather than the past.
You don’t have to relive your trauma to heal it, your nervous system already knows how to release what it’s been holding.
Somatic and Attachment-Focused Therapy
In therapy, we’ll explore how your body communicates through sensations, emotions, and tension. Attachment-focused therapy sessions will help you recognize patterns formed early in life, often rooted in wanting to feel seen, safe, and loved.
This work isn’t about blame; it’s about integration. Together, we cultivate lasting change, reconnecting your mind, body, and emotions in a way that feels safe and sustainable.
Your journey to wellness begins with a single step towards
self-discovery and self-care.
Why Clients Choose Me:
Clients describe me as steady, compassionate, real with a splash of humor. My work is grounded in science, but it’s also deeply intuitive. I blend professional expertise with warmth, spiritual openness, and curiosity about the human experience. As a recovering perfectionist and anxious girlie myself, I bring my own human experience to our sessions.
You might resonate with my approach if you:
Appear confident and capable but feel anxious or disconnected inside.
Have trouble slowing down or resting without guilt.
Carry thoughts of impending doom, internalized pressure, or self-criticism.
Want long lasting relief from trauma and anxiety without losing your drive or sensitivity.
Have tried talk therapy before but crave deeper, mind and body-based healing.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone else, it’s about remembering your wholeness.
